Students Kicking High

The Ninja Kids Students of the Welsh Academy of Martial Arts/YMCA Martial Arts Club travelled to Worcester to compete in the British Open Series of the World United Martial Arts Association, with outstanding results.

First to fight on the day was Novice Little Ninja,  6 year old Joshua Harris who fought like a champion although just training for 6 months Joshua showed outstanding technical ability, and without a doubt will one day be a champion within martial arts.  Joshua took 2nd place.

Next up was  novice fighter Ryan Newman who wanted to take part in both novice and advanced sections.  What a performance for such a young fighter.  He dominated both sections taking 1st place in the novice section and 1st place in the advance section.  Ryan only a green belt beat both novice fighters and black belts.  An outstanding result.

Last up was 8 year old Thomas Harris, who has been training from the age of 5 years.  Thomas has been fighting on the circuit since he was 6 years, and has proven that becoming a martial artist at a young age has its advantages. Learning martial arts has helped him to gain confidence, at home and at school. Thomas is a shy boy and since training has excelled in all areas that matter in martial arts. Respect being of the utmost important, confidence, self esteem – discipline – memory – balance and all important points that all students learn.  Thomas is on the road to becoming one of the most achieved students within his club.  Although yet a long way to go, as martial arts doesn`t stop when you reach a certain grade, he will one day make it as a champion in martial arts, if he continues on this path.
